Kisauni MP Rashid Bedzimba has dismissed claims that his relative killed by anti-terrorism police in Junda area Kisauni on Thursday was a terrorist.
Salim Abdhal and Salim Omar were killed in an operation, and weapons were allegedly recovered from their house.
Bedzimba said Salim Hanjari was a Mombasa county official and had no links with the terrorist group.
He accused police of trying to associate him with terrorism and criminal gangs in Kisauni.

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho strongly condemned the killing saying the government has started assassinating Muslims in the name of fighting terror.
Joho threatened to lead demonstrations against extra-judicial killings in Mombasa and demanded proper answers from the government.
“We are tired. We have had enough. We will talk to wananchi who will give us solutions. If it is demonstrations, we will go to the streets,” said Joho after visiting Salim’s family at Bilima in Kisauni.

Bedzimba also denied any links with the deadly knife-welding wakali kwanza gang in Kisauni.
On Tuesday, Coast regional coordinator Nelson Marwa accused the gang of stripping women and sucking their breasts in Mombasa.
Marwa said the gang commits the heinous act after robbing the victims.
