Electoral committee of Hirshabelle administration those spoke the media in jowhar told that they have postponed elections of lower house until upcoming Wednesday after fighting broke out at the polling station in Jowhar town on Friday night.
Electoral committee of Hirshabelle administration also added that they are arranging to solve disputes erupted in the election centre in jowhar town.
In a statement released by Somalia’s electoral body on Saturday, it has suspended the ongoing Lower House elections in the newly established Hirshabelle state following violence at the election center.
According to an eyewitness, dispute between candidates running for the Lower House seat among them the outgoing Youth and Sports Minister Mohamed Hassan Nuhu, led to indiscriminately fire exchange at the polling center that wounded several people.
Independently news received Radio Simba in Mogadishu capital indicating that AMISOM Military will confiscate with the polling station in Jowhar town as to prevent another violence and disrupts face the process of the elections.
