The chief of Somalia’s military court Liban Ali Yarow has vehemently denied a report by EU that accuses the Govt of committing executions against innocent civilians.

Speaking to BBC Somali service, Somali military tribunal head Liibaan Ali Yarow said that their sentences of executions are based on the country’s military rules and the executed criminals were only Al shabaab members.

“The Somali military court sentenced Al shabaab element to death. There were no basically any executions against civilians. EU report is baseless and beyond the truth,” said Somali military court boss.

EU has said in its latest that Somali military court has carried out 29 executions against civilians who were shot dead by the army in Mogadishu over the past 12 months.
