Anti-terror police officers are holding an American who was found with several guns at his house in Nyali estate, Mombasa.
Officers raided Richardson Rollier’s house on Sunday evening following a tip-off from the public, said regional police boss Francis Wanjohi.
He said three pepper spray apparatus, two stun guns and a lipstick knife were also found in the house.
Wanjohi said Rollier, who is married to a Kenyan woman, was being questioned for having weapons without a firearm certificate.
“The officers will establish if the foreigner is linked to terror activities,” he further told The Star on Monday.
The suspect is being interrogated by officers from the Anti-Terror Police Unit and will be arraigned in court later today.
This comes days after police shut down two madrassas linked to terrorism in Likoni, Mombasa.
A team from the National Intelligence Service and the Education ministry raided the madrassas and ordered their immediate closure.
Madrassas were mentioned in a report as being recruiting spots for al Shabaab.
