It is nearly a year since the government of Somalia Federal republic led by Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo started functioning, to fill full its duty.
Shortly after he was elected as the president of Somali Federal Republic, H.E. Mohamed Abdullaahi Farmajo nominated Hassan Ali Khayre as his incoming Prime minster.
PM Khaire announced his cabinet ministers consist of 66 including ministers, deputies and state ministers, the Prime minster had promised to fight against corruption and restore peace and stability in the country, which is now on the road map of peace.
last night Prime minister of Somalia H.E Hassan Ali Kheyre Attended ceremony presented government’s progress by some of cabinet ministers,which was highlighted their progress and process of good governance.
Number of cabinet ministers, Members of Parliament, Civil Society, traditional elders & women organizations had also participated The ceremony.
Historically after civil strife,it is the first time that Somalia and donor countries to sign huge developmental projects in the country,which will cost millions of dollars’such as Qatar.
“In near future we are expecting to sing another project with USAID,which also will cost three hundred millions of dollars,”Minister of Planning and International Investment said.
On the side, Minister of Finance Mr. H.E. Abdirahman Duale Beyle, mentioned during his speech that he has reformed financial system and its management of the ministry, this resulted increasing revenue and intensified the tax collection,Hence we have been paying for the last Eight months all salaries of government civil service.
During presentation of the government’s progress,minister of transport and Air Navigation H.E. Mohamed Abdullahi Salad(Omar) pointed out that it is the time to manage the air space and transfer all necessary equipment to Somali government that is under way.
During his Address at ceremony,the prime minster of Somalia Hassan Ali Khaire illustrated government performance and the progress made during their term in office, including Security, preventing corruption, rebuilding economic infrastructure, diplomatic ties, Federalism and constitution review process which is important to hold one man one vote in the future of country’s general elections.
Finally the conclusion remark of ceremony was.
“I would like to state hereby my appreciations to the organizers of this historical and important occasion which is a number of cabinet ministers presented their achievement progress; this is an accountability and evaluation. For your information; the other ministers we will invite them to present their progress and strategic plan next month,” Prime Minister Said.
The government of Somalia supported by Amisom and international partners is now facing large military operations against Al-shabaab Militias in part of the country.
About 30 air strikes against Alshabab and ISIS in Somalia had been carried out by international partners, killing many Al-shabaab top officials and militias in November 2017.
Minster of internal security for the Federal Government of Somalia, Mohamed Abokar Islow(Du’ale) said that about 50 Alshabaab members surrounded to the government, since the truck bomb in Mogadishu the last 14 Oc-2017,while 63 other were captured during security operations made by the National Security Forces.
Al-shabaab militants are now on run from their hideouts in southern Somalia to central to fine new shelters.
